Solar Incentive Pilot Program Passed by Board of Supervisors

Great news: the ten-year solar incentive program passed out of the Board of Supervisors on June 11th--the subsidy is now law! (Click here to read the press release.) As you all know, this has been a long and arduous process and this would not have been achieved if not for the hard work and dedication of the City partners (Mayor Newsom's Ofc., SFPUC, SFE) and all of you tremendous advocates for solar that have been visiting, writing and calling members of the Board of Supervisors encouraging them to pass this legislation.

Now you can support NPC's Playground Initiative by installing solar energy in your own home! Through NPC's new partnership with SolarCity, NPC will receive $100 for each residential referral that installs a SolarCity power system ($500 for each commercial referral). To inquire about the program or to set up a free consultation, visit the SolarCity website (www.solarcity.com) or call them at 888.SOL.CITY (888.765.2489) or npc@solarcity.com.

The Solar Energy Incentive Program is expected to be operational in the coming weeks with a budget of $3 million which will result in 1.5 MW of solar. The program will dramatically reduce the cost to install solar panels on residential and commercial properties. The one-year pilot program would budget $1.5 million to buildings owned and operated by nonprofit organizations and low-income single and multifamily residential applicants.
