I Love My Park: May 2009

Welcome to “I Love My Park”, NPC’s monthly column featuring interviews with people all over the city talking about the personal connections they feel to parks in San Francisco. If you are interested in appearing in this column in the future, please email us and tell us all the reasons why you love your park. To read the archive of past columns, click here.

This month: Annie Simmermon at Noe Beaver Mini Park on April 27th.  Interview and photo by NPC volunteer Joyce Pedersen.

How often do you come to this park?
Annie: This is my first time in the gardens.

What do you like best about this park?
Annie: It is nestled into the street which makes it quiet and peaceful.  Herbs and vegetables are planted in the garden.  Bird feeders hang in the trees.

What, if any, improvements or suggestions would you have?
Annie: While I like the fence around the park, it both protects and hides the park from site.  Making it easy to pass by without notice of the gardens.  I’d suggest that the garden hours be extended. Late afternoon on Sunday evenings, the park is closed and the gates are locked.
